Many folks in certain parts of the world have been calling the United States “The Great Satan” for decades, long before ROB ZOMBIE’s eighth studio album, THE GREAT SATAN, was called that.
Released on 02/27/2026 on Nuclear Blast, the newest studio offering from ROB ZOMBIE, THE GREAT SATAN, has a much heavier, darker, and more aggro feel than past albums, and the album art, the album title, and the album sound all fit perfectly within the “haunted house motif” that has become part of his signature style and sound.

F.T.W. 84
Definitely has a Nuclear Blast mix. Probably the heaviest Rob Zombie ever. Way more aggro and far less poppy than his earlier output. Check out the vintage style black & white music video. It’s got the requisite creepy organ and vintage horror flick samples which give it a very heavy, dark, and haunted vibe.

TARANTULA
“If we want to live, we must die…”
The intro has a Lords of Acid feel happening, followed by very heavy Slipknot vibes…walls of heavy guitars with some death metal flourishes here and there. This is certainly heavier than any other Rob Zombie album, but it still comes with all the usual spooky, Rob Zombie haunted funhouse vibes. The production (especially the guitar) is ultra thick.

(I’M A) ROCK ‘N’ ROLLER
This almost has a strange 70’s style industrial metal vibe (like if Industrial Metal was around in the 70’s…very lo-fi). Kept thinking he was going to take an off-ramp into something else, but it never happened.
The vocals have a certain Alice Cooper vibe to them.

HEATHEN DAYS
Very industrial sounding, but also short and to the point. (And there are ‘tinklies’…)
The video has a weird, sepia tinted, b&w tone to it. Not sure which mask he’s wearing in the video (or who it represents). Based on the 2 videos thus far, this newer, heavier Rob Zombie seems much more stripped down and raw and much less thematic than his earlier stuff.
WHO AM I?
A nice atmospheric interlude to lead up to the next track…listen to the samples…read those lyrics. This is where we are in 2026.
BLACK RAT COFFIN
This almost sounds reminiscent of Astro-Creep 2000 somehow.
Very heavy, and very creepy. Relatively short and to the point.
SIR LORD ACID WOLFMAN
Definitely a stripper song for sure. Maybe stripper pirates…or pirate strippers? Sleazy and slow…the way pirate strippers should be.
Note the dual, Iommi inspired guitar vibes going on in the headphones (different things on the left and the right). Oh yeah, and that bass is super meaty.
PUNKS AND DEMONS
Kinda surprised this one wasn’t called SATAN, Punks, And Demons. It has a very NIN guitar sound and feel to it.
This is the most “traditional” (and definitely the evilest) Rob Zombie video of the 3 thus far.

THE DEVILMAN
Sounds of Sabbath inspired heaviness. This may be the heaviest track yet. Also has some Dime style Whammy Pedal shit going on…
OUT OF SIGHT
Very retro intro, like something out of a 60’s spy movie, which is immediately followed by a massive riff that’s tuned WAY LOW!!!
The samples really add to the ambiance. The vibe is a heavier, modern-day Alice Cooper with a much heavier, modern metal sound.

REVOLUTION MOTHERFUCKERS
Definitely “a hand-clapping clap along song” at the concert with this one. Good luck trying to watch this on the YouTube without signing in to “verify your age” (does that even matter anymore? Do bots have to do that?).
If you stop and think about it, rock and metal ARE the revolution! Why else would it be so sidelined and marginalized by the mainstream?

UNCLEAN ANIMALS
The dual guitar solos doing completely different things on the left and the right is really cool, definitely reminiscent of classic Sabbath. (Use those headphones…)
Somewhere Vincent Furnier is smiling from ear to ear with a sinister sneer. Somewhere, The Master is grinning from ear to ear, and his thimbles are tingling with pride and joy. The album has a uniquely specific dark, heavy and creepy vibe to it.
GRAVE DISCONTENT
An excellent, ending credit outro. Think “creepy Pink Floyd” hidden track at the end of Wish You Were Here
