The track "Ænema" won the Grammy Award for Best Metal Performance in 1998
On March 4, 2003, the album was certified triple platinum by the Recording Industry Association of America, and has also been certified triple platinum by ARIA and platinum by Music Canada. The album debuted at No. 2 on the Billboard 200 chart upon its initial release, selling 148,000 copies in its first week of release. As of July 7, 2010, Ænima has sold 3,429,000 copies in the US. The album, and the rest of Tool's catalog, was released in digital form on August 2, 2019 making the album peak at No. 10 after a 5,900% sales increase.
