The American edition combined tracks from the Australian High Voltage and T.N.T. albums — and the difference between the first new album and the first first new album is a whole episode unto itself. Angus's guitar sound was described by Dave Mustaine as "glowing orange." That's exactly right. Also: the album was originally going to be called "Highland Voltage" but Angus refused to wear a kilt.

One of the great injustices of rock history — Dirty Deeds was released in Australia in 1976 but withheld from the US until 1981, after Bon Scott had already passed away. "Dirty Deeds," "Big Balls," "Problem Child," and the devastating "Ride On" — three completely different AC/DC moods on one record. "Ride On" is the best AC/DC song ever recorded. Don't forget about the weird Tube Snake Boogie reprise at the end of the Australian version. It's this album's "Problem Child" of the album.

AC/DC's "White Album" — arriving after the Black Album (Back in Black) and the Bronze Album (For Those About to Rock). Recorded in Nassau, The Bahamas with Mutt Lange. After a three-album run of Highway to Hell, Back in Black, and For Those About to Rock, they were probably ready for the Bahamas. "Their sound is menopause." The lead single "Nervous Shakedown" was absolute heavy metal rapture on the radio and on MTV. A grower from track 1 — it just keeps getting better.
